In mid-February 2024, during the NBA All-Star Weekend, I was hired as a DP for a video production in Indianapolis. Throughout the trip, I captured some photos on film using my Leica M6 paired with the Summicron 35mm f2 v4, fondly known as "the king of bokeh."
I shot two rolls of film, Kodak Tmax 400 and Portra 400, both of which were my first attempts with these films since I recently delved into film photography. I appreciate the fine detail of the Tmax 400 compared to Ilford HP5, and I'm equally impressed by the vibrant colors rendered by the Portra 400. It accentuated the rustic charm of the town, echoing its identity as part of the Rust Belt.
It is the busy hour in the morning. due to the NBA all star weekend, I assume it is the most busy time in years. But still very empty.
On the second day of our arrival in Indianapolis, heavy snowflakes began to fall, casting a thick veil over the already desolate cityscape.
Parked in the narrow alley between buildings was a Chevrolet Suburban straight out of an American TV drama, but surrounding it were streets already frozen over and pipes emitting steam, giving the entire scene an atmosphere reminiscent of Gotham City from a DC movie.
Unlike the police cars in LA, the ones in Indianapolis are all Dodge Chargers, which adds to the hardcore vibe of the atmosphere. As I mentioned earlier, it further highlights the city's blue-collar character.

Our producer, Gid, yea I know he looks very mean, but he has the skillset to drive on icy roads
despite the freezing weather, young people were still having fun on streets
